The Swiss franc hit a fresh seven-and-a-half month high against the dollar on Wednesday on hopes US lawmakers may reach an agreement to stave off the automatic spending cuts and tax hikes threatening the world's largest economy. The franc was 0.1 percent firmer against the dollar compared to the New York close, trading at 0.9121 francs per dollar by 0732 GMT. The franc was steady against the euro at 1.2076 francs per euro.
